Today was the annual tournament hosted by Ashby Hockey Club.
For the first time they hosted an under 8s competition which was the first ‘proper’ match ever for many of our under 8s players. They played some great hockey against some far more experienced opposition and all improved throughout the matches.
Our under 10s boys then played some great hockey to get themselves through to the semi-finals, via a penalty shuffle competition to determine group positionings. Their determination and enthusiasm for the sport was definitely on display during the shuffle competion and they were unlucky to come up against a very strong Beeston side in the semi-final.
The under 12s boys then came up some very tough group opponents, but finished on a high winning their last game of the day.
