Town travelled to Leek looking to continue their winning start to the season.
On a new pitch and with very un-Leek like weather, the scene was set for what was hoped would be a good game. The first half came and went with the Leek goalkeeper making several very good saves but ultimately it went into the break 0-0.
A second half started with Leek taking the lead. Town responded quickly with Ethan Hoddle turning in the rebound from another good Richard Watson penalty corner. With Town searching for a potential winner, this left them exposed at the back and Leek took advantage on a quick break to score what would turn out to be the winner.
A game where a draw would possibly have been a fair result, Town will rue coming up against a fine performance from the Leek keeper. The focus now turns to a home match against an undefeated Stourport 1st XI next week.
