Town were looking to continue their promising start to the season with an opening game against Leicester University 1st XI that would see them into their double-header weekend.
Despite comprising of several new players to the club, the Ladies boasted great structure, communication and teamwork on the pitch. It wasn’t too long before Row (5 goals in the game) opened the scoring with a clean strike from the top, and Town continued to pressure the Leicester defence from there on in.
Skillful work from both Emma and Beth in the midfield allowed the attackers plenty of opportunity to score, and goals quickly followed from Sally (2), Jess (1), Izzy (1), Georgia (2) and Holly (1).
A top effort from start to finish which showed great promise for the rest of the season. Player of the game went to Row for her 5 goal game, just missing out on her double hat-trick!

On Sunday the 2nd XI took on the 3rd XI in a great inter club match! The successful game for the 2nd XI presented a 6-0 win against the 3rd XI. With plenty of short corners, the 3rd XI did a great job with their penalty corner defense to keep the ball out! Both teams providing a strong team and fighting hard for the win even with the gloomy weather.
There were goals from Jo (2), Sally (1), Row (1), Holly (1) and Georgia (1), with player of the game going to a well deserved Emma, who played a very strong game consistently providing set ups throughout the game.
With wins in both games, the 6 points has taken the 2nd XI top of the table on goal difference.
