With focus on the Cup this weekend, the Ladies 2nd XI took on Roundhill Ladies 1st XI at home.
A strong start from Town lead to multiple opportunities on goal early on in the first half, the first of these being put soundly into the net by Georgia Williams.
Continuing to pressure Roundhill, Town kept possession in the attacking half with many more chances on goal. These were eventually converted by Sally Eastwood, Jo Hatley and Elle Brown before the end of the first half leaving the score at 4-0.
Town came out with the same intensity in the second half and continued to press the attack with Alex Penry converting the 5th goal. With Jo Hatley taken off due to injury, Town doubled their efforts working hard to add to the final score.
After continuing to win short corners, Emma Rose Chalmers finally rocketed the ball into the net. Sophie Rainbow soon followed with another goal. By continuing to move well on and off the ball, Town created more chances with the final two goals coming from Elle Brown and Sally Eastwood, bringing the final score to 9-0. Player of the match went to Elle Brown.
Town hope to continue with a win’s next weekend against Charnwood Sileby 1st XI (League) and Birmingham University 4th XI (EH Cup).
