LTHC Men’s 3rd XI 5 at Nottingham Men’s 1st XI 4

MRHA T2 – East Midlands 1

Saturday 9th November  2019

After traffic issues caused a delayed meet time, Loughborough Town 3rd XI travelled to play Nottingham, looking to add to the win column.

A strong start by Town led to chances galore but the forward line were unable to convert. Soon 1-0 down Town were now chasing the game. Slick interplay between Kaylan Mistry and Tom Rounsley lead to the equaliser from Mistry. Mistry then went on to score his second of the game with a clinical reverse stick finish from the top of the D.

A ‘roasting’ at half time from captain Peter Hayes led Town out to score three more quick goals with Matt Horsfall, Jono Griffiths and Mistry completing his hat trick.  Town then we’re under a lot of pressure and Nottingham pulled back three goals to get with one, making Town last 5 minutes of the game very uncomfortable.  It could have been more though keeper Jaimin Metcalf made some outstanding saves that gave him a well deserved man of the match.

Town took the win 5-4 and with it moved to third in the table.
