LTHC Ladies 2nd XI 0 at University of Birmingham Ladies 4th XI 5
England Hockey Investec Women’s Tier 3 Championships

After a cancelled league game on Saturday, the Ladies 2nd XI travelled to Birmingham to take on University of Birmingham 4th XI in the England Hockey Championship.
Once the delayed umpire arrived the game was under way. An early goal for Birmingham certainly caught Town off guard. The whole team worked hard to break through Birmingham’s strong press and stop their quick passes, though two more goals were conceded to make it 3-0 to the home side at half time.
Birmingham scored two more goals in the second half, including one from a short corner, to take the final score to 5-0 to the home side, putting them through to the next round of the Cup. Whilst it wasn’t the result Town wanted, the whole team played incredibly well and kept going despite scoreline. Player of the game went to Alex Penry.
Next weekend Town are back in league action when they play local rivals Loughborough Students 5th XI.
