LTHC Ladies 3rd XI 0 vs Leicester City Ladies 3rd XI 7
LRHA Ladies – Premier Division
Saturday 18th January 2020
In a rearranged game from the 1st half of the season Loughborough Town Ladies 3rd XI faced 2nd placed Leicester City 3rd XI. Although Town lost the toss captain Sam Dalby tried to make a tactical decision in switching ends to take advantage of the low sun.
Unfortunately in a game that was expected to be challenging for Town, Leicester started strong and within the first five minutes, Leicester had been awarded a short corner and scored their first goal.
Town who were missing key players, relied heavily on their keeper Kate Horrigan who faced a barrage of shots from Leicester’s forward line. As Town’s defence seemed lost Leicester capitalised twice more before half time.
The second half started similarly to the end of the first, and although Town managed to pressure Leicester, they failed to challenge the keeper, and Leicester effectively counterattacked to score four more goals.
A disappointing result for Town who are sitting in the lower half of the table, but with a game against their own 2nd XI next week the disappointment might not be finished yet.
