Loughborough Town Men’s 2nd XI faced Coventry & North Warwick Men’s 1st XI at home following a win hoping to extend their unbeaten streak to three games.
An impressive start saw Town take an early lead thanks to two short corners from Megicks and a tap in at the far post from Horsfall. Coventry managed to get one back and Town went into the second half with an unfamiliar 2 goal lead.
The game became feistier in the second half with both teams going down to nine on separate occasions whilst the goals kept coming as Guest scored a far post deflection and won a flick which Parry buried. However Coventry made it interesting and got back into the game by scoring two goals; though Town held on to take the 5-3 win.
A stand out performance from Lawrie Bayne on the right saw him pick up man of the match in a good all round performance by the Loughborough who travel to Burton in the hope to extend their winning streak to three games.
