Loughborough Town Men’s 1st XI ended league leaders University of Birmingham Men’s 2nd XI hopes of an unbeaten season with an impressive 1-0 win at home. Town defended well throughout the first half limiting Birmingham’s opportunities, whilst White and Carter threatened on the counter attack.
In the second half Town relied on an agile Jackson in goal and great defending from France and Shepard. Creative flare from Hoddle and Lewis created the opening for Ratcliffe to unleash a reverse stick shot which Capel turned in.
A great win from Town which sees them stay third in the table before traveling to Warwick University next Saturday.
