LTHC Men’s 1st XI 4 at Warwick University Men’s 1st XI 0

MRHA T1 – Midlands Premier

Saturday 15th February 2020

Loughborough Town Men’s 1st XI travelled to Warwick to play bottom half of the table Warwick University 1st XI, after a great win against league leaders University of Birmingham 2nd XI the week before.

A quick start for Town as Hoddle scored in the first minute of the game with a marauding run from defence. Town playing some good hockey couldn’t add to the scoreboard and closed out the half with only one scare, with Johnstone saving well off the line from a penalty corner.

Town came out for a wet second half and scored two quick goals from Johnstone, who continues his goal scoring form. The first a penalty flick after great work from Harrison and Radcliffe to get the flick awarded and the second from a penalty corner. White finished the scoring for both teams with a well taken goal.

The 4-0 win extends Town’s win streak to three and undefeated streak to five games, whilst also moving them up to second in the league table.

Next week Town play a local derby against fourth place Loughborough Students 2nd XI, where they’ll be looking to continue their current form. All supporters are welcome for this Saturday’s fixture which starts at 12:00 on the University water base.
