LTHC Ladies 3rd XI 0 at Market Harborough Ladies 1st XI 5

LRHA Ladies – Premier Division

Saturday 15th February 2020

As storm Dennis hit the rest of the country, Leicestershire remained fairly untouched and so Town Ladies 3rd XI headed down the motorway to face Market Harborough. Whilst the rain held off, the wind certainly made up for it.

Harborough won the toss and capitalised with a goal within the first ten minutes. Town regrouped and pushed hard to break into the attacking twenty three on numerous occasions but failed to score. The consistent defensive set up led by Kate Horrigan in goal held firm, and despite waves of attack by Harborough the first half ended 1-0

A half time team talk which tried to address the huge space in midfield saw Town setting up with a slightly different formation. However this tactic failed to produce results, as a well organised Harborough played triangles around Town, and managed to score another 4 unanswered goals. Town had their chances with some good linking play between midfield and the forwards, however this was not enough and the game ended 5-0.

As Town continue to sit in the relegation zone the next couple of games will be crucial in terms of deciding their outcome and what league they will be playing in next season.
