LTHC Men’s 4th XI 14 vs Khalsa Leamington Men’s 5th XI 0
MRHA T3 – South East 1
Saturday 15th February 2020
The Men’s 4th XI had suffered consecutive league defeats in the previous two matches. The team were fully aware that they needed to get back to winning ways if they were to maintain some kind of pressure on the two teams above them in the league, and this they did in some style.
An Ollie Jephcott hat-trick had this game won inside ten minutes of the start, in which turned out to be a dominant performance from the home side. Town remained focussed throughout the game, their movement and passing at a level that left the visitors overwhelmed.
Man of the Match, Dan Smith claimed a double hat-trick, his 6th goal being a great reverse-stick shot from just inside the D. Jephcott finished the match with four goals, with other goals coming from Shay Chauhan, Mant Lad and Phil Cook. It was a relentless performance throughout as Town scored goals with regularity with the final score 14-0 to the home side.
Town will be hoping for a similar performance next week when they make the trip over to Tamworth, looking to keep in touch with the top two sides.
