LTHC Ladies 2nd XI 1 at Leicester City Ladies 3rd XI 3
LRHA Ladies – Premier Division
Saturday 22nd February 2020
An important game for the Ladies 2nd XI this week against Leicester City 3rd XI, as Town looked for a win which would move them ahead of Leicester into second place. Town started with the game with passion and got a goal in the first half, as Elle Brown converted her break and beat the keeper one vs one. Town’s keeper Jess Weatherhall kept Town’s lead intact by making some good saves, despite Leicester’s push to get the equaliser.
Leicester unsurprisingly came out the stronger side in the second half and scored three goals, as their forwards made their shots count. Playing a lot of the half in their own end, Town had to use counter attacks to generate chances in front of goal, though these couldn’t be put away. The final score was 3-1 to Leicester which was disappointing for Town, though it was a good game of high intensity hockey from both teams.
Player of the Match: Elle Brown
